Portman Road Stadium Tour,
March 2002 As part of the first
official North American Supporters Club (NASC) visit to Ipswich, a tour of
Portman Road was arranged. Some of the Stowmarket TractorBoys were also
invited along. We were accompanied on the stadium tour by Mike Sewell of BBC
Radio 5. Mike is covering Ipswich Town this season in the BBC's Premiership
Uncovered. Extracts for the tour will be broadcast on Radio
Five, Monday 4th March at 19:30 (GMT)
We would like to say a special thank you to club
chairman, David Sheepshanks, who took the time to meet us. He spent over 45
minutes of his valuable time answering questions and signing autographs. Former
BBC Radio Suffolk commentator, Terry Baxter who now works for Ipswich Town, also
came along and served tea for us.
