Ninian Live Virtual Match
Saturday 29th November 2003, 15:00 GMT

Welcome to yet another Live Virtual Match broadcast in conjunction with North West Supporters Club. Yet again, we push forward the boundaries of half-assed broadcasting by traveling abroad to a country just 200 miles off the coast of England. For some strange reason, Cardiff have to play their home games in a foreign country so to help those of you who are still financially challenged from UEFA Cup trips and purchase shares in the club, we offer you this free Live Virtual Match broadcast. It's just like being there.

FULL TIME: The final whistle goes and Ipswich move ahead of Cardiff into the play-off places. The latest table is still be be confirmed. 3-2 away win against 6th place Cardiff - good result
Injury Time:
Westlake is clogged yet again, this time by an Aussie who is still presumably upset as England are Rugby World Champions. It's the 4th minute of injury time.
90 mins:
Cardiff corner is headed over the bar but look at this picture. It clearly shows ET (from the film E.T.) in the visitors enclosure at Portman Road. This image is copyrighted (is that a word) and will hopefully make us very rich !!!!

89 mins:
It's the final minute and a picture proving the existence of aliens has just reached us. There will be 2 minutes of injury time. Robinson and Davies are injured in a 50-50 challenge
87 mins:
Free kick to Cardiff is cleared and the shot is going "Up, Up and Away (in my beautiful balloon"

85 mins: Cardiff win their first corner of the 2nd half. Robinson to take and Cardiff score. Peter Thorne makes it 3-2 - did we speak too soon ????
83 mins:
The home fans start to drift way as they know even our dodgy defence can't collapse like the Barnsley defence did in that game a few years ago. Yet another corner to Ipswich
81 mins: Goal to Bart-Williams. The keeper messes up the corner and the Bartman lamps in the 3rd goal - the Coup De Grace predicted just 1 minute ago. 3-1 to the TractorBoys.

80 mins:
It's still all Cardiff since their goal. Hopefully we are just playing games and will deliver the Coup De Grace very soon
The Ref gives out one of the many yellow cards although it's not a clog-fest
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
78 mins:
Abuse coming in from California as Cardiff go close.
75 mins:
Wright sends Bent away but is crowded out. Ipswich keep possession and start to rebuild
74 mins:
Free kick by Cardiff is headed clear. Cardiff really pushing for the equaliser
72 mins:
Davies makes a brilliant save from Thorne but the whistle has already gone for a foul on the defender
70 mins:
We've got no idea what is happening as our link to Cardiff went down. Hopefully will be back soon
66 mins:
Free kick to Cardiff as John Robinson dives as normal
64 mins:
Ipswich continuing to have more possession as they try to restore their 2 goal advantage. Cardiff prepare to make a sub as Gabbidon clears.
Davies prepares to concede the penalty
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
59 mins:
Stand-in captain Bart-Williams, trys to get the players back on track.

57 mins: Earnshaw sends Davies the wrong way for his 100th Cardiff goal. It appears Kuqi was the offender. 2-1 to the TractorBoys

56 mins:
Penalty to Cardiff for some reason - It's Earnshaw against Davies
54 mins:
Santos clears a cross after initially giving the ball away. Traveling TractorBoys are in good voice.
The lights are back and it's raining
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
52 mins:
Corner to Ipswich, Westlake is have a great game. Cleared.
50 mins:
Richards slams the ball into the wall and it's cleared
49 mins:
Croft concedes a free kick on the edge of the area and gets yellow card for his trouble. Westlake is struggling a bit after the challenge.
47 mins:
A cross fails to find Peter Thorne as Cardiff start the 2nd half a bit more positively. A shot from Kuqi fell to Bent who put the ball in the net but he's in an off-side position - stupid technicalities !!!!
45 mins:
Cardiff players come back onto the field like sheep to the slaughter. Cardiff to kick-off attacking the end where the TractorBoys are gathered. Here we go......

Half-time:
The players leave the field and the stand shows a giant Swedish and Welsh flags. Unless the floodlights come back it's going to be darker than Diss High Street at Christmas and the game will have to be abandoned. A groveling request from San Diego has reached us. A big shout out to Scriv all the way in Cali, he's a bad mo fo
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
45 mins (+2):
Half-time and fortunately the floodlights are starting to come back on.
43 mins:
Another corner for the home side comes to nothing - we need half-time and the floodlights to be fixed.
41 mins:
Cardiff coming back into the game a bit more but nothing really threatening.
Players and Fans Celebrate:
There is much rejoicing in a corner of a foreign field that is forever England as Frenchman Georges Santos makes it 2-0
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
Miller Time:
Our latest picture shows goalscorer Tommy Miller (no, not the one from Stowmarket) coming on for the clogged captain, Jim Magilton
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
35 mins:
Less of your lip Gary Jones of Stowmarket!!!!   Cardiff force another corner which is cleared as Ipswich pack the defence
31 mins: It's our 8th corner and now it's 2 goals as Santos scores his 1st goal for Ipswich. Cardiff's best bet looks like not fixing the floodlights. 2-0 to the TractorBoys
30 mins:
Ipswich nearly force another corner and look well worth their lead
28 mins: Miller scores, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0 to the TractorBoys

27 mins: Westlake is brought down for a penalty - Miller to take
26 mins:
Miller comes on for Magilton and the floodlights still aren't back on. This needs to be sorted or it will be too dark to play.
25 mins:
Boooo, Cardiff get their first corner. Get the floodlights back on quickly. Cardiff nearly score as Earnshaw can't make contact. Miller is getting ready to come on for Magilton
23 mins:
The floodlights go out and there appears to be a fire of some sort. It appears to be outside the ground as Kuqi clears with a defensive header.
21 mins:
OK, something has happened. Our link to Cardiff went down but it appears Magilton was clogged and may have to come off. It really doesn't sound very hopefully that he'll stay on as a cross from Croft evades everyone.
18 mins:
Yet another corner and I'm quickly running out of different ways to describe us winning a corner. Ipswich are battering the home side as Kuqi spanners one over the stand. Surely they can't hold out much longer.
Action Rewind:
Pictures of our first corner in the 6th minute reach us.
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
15 mins:
Yet another Tractor corner - convicted insurance dodger Gary Croft is having a torrid time.
12 mins:
Shefki fires in a shot and then it's straight up the other end as Langley goes close from long range. Ipswich have shaded the early exchanges. Now Wright has a shot.....ooo, this is exciting. We force our 4th corner.
10 mins:
Another corner for Ipswich is headed wide by new hero, Kuqi. He, of course, has just signed a 2 year deal for the TractorBoys
8 mins:
The team in Maroon and Blue take the lead against the team wearing Blue......unfortunately, it's Crystal Palace at home to Coventry, not Ipswich at Cardiff
6 mins:
Benty nicks the ball off a defender and forces a corner. Results in a Westlake shot which is half-cleared
5 mins:
Our first picture shows the view from the visitors enclosure
Cardiff v Ipswich 2003
4 mins:
Still nothing of note happening although Julian Gray of Cardiff has just been clogged.
2 mins: Not too much happening so far. Naylor and Santos have hoofed the ball clear a couple of times.
0 min:
Cardiff have won the toss and Ipswich to kick off. Several TractorBoys and Girls in attendance
0 min:
Players take the field for Ipswich's first visit to Ninian Park since 1984.

From Ninian Park:
30 minutes to kick-off: The weather has cleared up nicely although the pitch is wet. The team news sees Ipswich unchanged from last week as Georges Santos recovers from his dodgy foot. Former player and convicted criminal, Gary Croft, will play at right back for Cardiff. Due to technical reasons, we are still waiting for the complete Cardiff line-up.
50 minutes to kick-off: We are awaiting the announcement of the teams for today's game which sees the divisions top scoring teams go head to head. Ipswich have scored 37 goals and Cardiff 32. Sounds like a 0-0 draw in prospect then. Pictures are already coming in from Cardiff showing TractorBoys drinking in the pub.
1 hour 20 mins to kick-off: It emerges that there has been heavy rainfall in the Cardiff area in the past 12 hours but the game is definitely on.

Pre Match Build Up:

We are still waiting for the Cardiff squad to be announced and pictures to be sent back. It is hoped the costs of international phone calls don't affect this broadcast. Fortunately, Britain and Wales are on the same time zone so kick-off time will at 15:00 (GMT) as normal

We can confirm that complaints are already being received about the cost of the toll bridge as drivers enter Wales - obviously, those of us who didn't travel abroad, don't care as we don't have to pay the ridiculous £4.50 per car. Anyway, the broadcasters from Cardiff have found there pub safely enough.

The TractorBoys.net airship has already been launched and has beamed back a picture of Ninian Park, the venue for today's game.
This is the a sign that visiting Tractor Boys and Chicks will see as they travel abroad. We believe that there is a special agreement between the two countries and passports will not need to be shown at border crossings.

It may be a different country but as you can see, some vandals have sprayed graffiti on the bottom of the sign. No idea what it means, presumably it's some sort of street gang thing.
