Kenilworth Road
Live Virtual Match
Saturday 1st April 2006, 15:00 BST

Welcome to yet another Live Virtual Match broadcast in conjunction with North West Supporters Club, ironically on April Fools day. Our latest broadcast comes from fellow East Anglian club, Luton Town. This is the 2nd meeting between the sides this season. The game at Portman Road was on 31st December 2005 and Ipswich won 1-0 with an Ian Westlake goal after 69 minutes in front of a crowd of 23,957.

Ipswich go into the game at Luton 1 point and 1 place ahead of the hosts. Ipswich are in 10th with 53 points, Luton are 11th with 52 points.

Historically, the Tractorboys haven't performed too well at Kenilworth Road winning just 2 of the previous 8 league games played there. However, we did win our last league visit back in 1995/96 with Simon Milton scoring twice in a 2-1 win

Summary
If there were any doubts before today, our play-off hopes are well and truly over. To make matters worse, the scum won but this was always going to be a season to consolidate. Reading clinched the title with a 5-0 win against Derby and Sheffield United dropped points against Stoke, next weeks visitors to Portman Road. There are plenty of positive points to take forward to next season. Thanks for watching

FULL TIME
90+mins: The ref obvious enjoys inflicting pain on people as he adds on 4 mins but the game ends 1-0 to Luton and our proud record of never losing a virtual broadcast has gone.
90+mins: Naylor heads a half chance a long way wide as the game stumbles towards the final whistle
90 mins: Luton get a corner right at the death
87 mins: Time running out for the TractorBoys and were are facing our first defeat from a TractorBoys.net broadcast
84 mins: The decision to book Berkovic does seem strange as Wilnis was seen laying on the pitch. It'll be interesting to see what he did to warrant a yellow card. Haynes prepares to come on for Sito

81 mins: Wilnis is down after an off the ball incident and the linesman tells the ref Berkovic needs to be booked, presumably for trying to wake up the crowd
80 mins: GOAL - Steve Howard scores his 15th goal of the season as he heads home at the near post.

79 mins: Despite the recent burst of action, PZ from Middle America sums up the game "Wake me up when it's over...zzzzzzz". A town corner comes to nothing
78 mins: Corner to Luton which Ipswich struggle to clear but are saved by the ref's whistle
77 mins: Actually, it's a treble substituion as Showunmi comes on for Heikkinen
77 mins: Fuller has a second for Southampton as Luton make a double substitution
75 mins: Garvan has a good chance after work by Sito. Tragic news from Carrot Road as the scum take the lead after that idiot D'Urso gave them a dodgy penalty.
71 mins: De Vos's clearance hits Sito and rebounds into Supple's arms. News comes through that Ricardo Fuller has scored for Southampton. Steve Howard and Markus Heikkinen have joined Davis in the ref's notebook
64 mins: Jimmy Juan goes down on the edge of the area. He's scored a couple for this range already this season

63 mins: Davis picks up a yellow card for Luton. The ref was probably getting bored
60 mins: Hurrah - Leicester equalise against the scum.
59 mins: Luton force another corner which Dean Morgan takes and guess what, it comes to nothing
57 mins: Our cameraman has apologised for lack of pictures but the game is shocking. At least he's on the scene in case of an Ipswich goal as they are attacking the goal in front of the travelling support
55 mins: Vine gets away from Wilnis who clubs him down but thankfully the ref has already given a foul by Vine on Wilnis
53 mins: Trickery from Vine sets up a change which Supple saves brilliantly to give Luton their first corner. Bowditch prepares to come on for Richards
51 mins: A sloppy header from McEverly lets in Steve Vine but he can't add to his 14 goals as he puts the ball into the side netting. Our latest picture shows the stewards considering going back down the tunnel rather than watch the rest of this game

50 mins: Morgan wastes the best chance of the game as he gets past Sito and hammers the ball towards to moon
46 mins: Some nice play from Ipswich sees McEverly's cross end up in the arms of Beresford.
45 mins: No changes for Ipswich as the teams come out for the 2nd half.

England spinner, Monte Panesar has made an appearance at half-time. He's a life-long Luton supporter.

During the break, I'd just like to take the opportunity to congratulate our cameraman at Luton, Jon Craig and his missus as they are expecting their first child in October.

There are plenty of goals around today but for once, not in an Ipswich game. This really has been a tame affair with only 3 shots on target in the first half (Luton 2, Ipswich 1). Maybe Big Fat Joe will be considering giving Brekke-Skard a run-out as the midfield haven't done much.

HALF TIME

The whistle goes for half time and no-one is disappointed
45+mins: Still the misery continues and this picture shows the view from the away end. 3 minutes added so far.

45 mins: We move in to added time. Go and make a cup of tea and hope the 2nd half is better
44 mins: Half time approaching and hopefully the ref will do the right thing and not add on any injury time.
42 mins: Action moments are few and far between although on the email, Lewis in Lincoln has been complimenting our website. Thanks Lewis
40 mins: From the corner, Richards shot was blocked.
38 mins: Juan was nearly in but a challenge from the defender gives Ipswich another corner although maybe it should have been a pen
37 mins: De Vos heads the ball
36 mins: Howard gets away from Wilnis and gets in a shot that Supple deals with easily. Lets hope the 2nd half is more entertaining. Some subs will be needed and I'm hoping the shorter names will be replacing the long ones. The worst one would be Showunmi replacing Bell.
35 mins: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Here is another picture

31 mins: Pictures reach us showing Jimmy Juan getting treatment. His midfield team-mates Richards and Garvan have been listed as Missing In Action

30 mins: Some excellent goal-keeping from Supple although the linesman already has his flag up.
28 mins: Bad news from Carrow Road where Norwich are 1-0 up
22 mins: Ipswich starting to come to life as we force another corner. It's cleared then Sito's cross is overhit
20 mins: Some excitement at last as Currie hits a stunning shot to force a corner
19 mins: Still duller than listening to John Major talking about his stamp collection but the Bolton keeper has just made a stunning double save against Man Utd
17 mins: Currie takes the first corner of the match for Ipswich but it comes to nothing
15 mins: Nothing happening but I can report next weeks opponents, Stoke are 1-0 at home to Sheffield United. We have a picture of Shane Supple taking a goal-kick

12 mins: Richards can't continue and Bowditch looks ready to come on. Some more photos have come in and will be online shortly
10 mins: Richards goes down hurt after a tough challenge and is limping off the field. The Luton man involved in the challenge was Luton captain Chris Coyne. The game restarts with a drop ball
8 mins: Howard gets the first shot in on goal as Richards gives the ball away. Defensive mistakes have been the only consistent thing about our defence for a couple of seasons
6 mins: 14 goal striker Stephen Howard has wiped out Sito with an outrageous challenge but the man in black does nothing. To his credit, Sito gets up and doesn't make a meal of the challenge
5 mins: Still pretty tame stuff but with the season effectively over for both sides, it's not much of a surprise. The Tractorboys are in good voice with around 2,000 making the journey from Suffolk. Don't forget to use the FEEDBACK button to give us your thoughts on this game, this season or our chances for next season.
2 mins: Not much happening in our game but Portsmouth have scored the first goal of the afternoon at Fulham and Newcastle are 1-0 at home to Spurs
0 mins: The teams are ready to come out and our first photo is in. It's from the back of the away stand. The referee is Lee Mason and he sent off Sito earlier on in the season. Lets home there is no repeat performance. And we're away, with Ipswich defender the goal in front of the travelling support

Pre-match Build Up
Good morning and welcome to our live broadcast. Everything is in place and we have the teams. Alan Lee has recovered from injury and will partner Richard Naylor up front.

Barring a mathematical anomaly more outrageous than a Zimbabwe election result, the season is pretty much over with regards to us making the play-offs. However, it is important that we do finish about the scum and as we are currently neck and neck, there is everything to play for. The veteran listeners amongst you will have noticed that our mascots from Dallas, Monica and Kimberly are no longer with us. Instead we have 2 new stunners to help pom-pom our way to success. For the older viewers, we have Catherine Bach who played Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazard in the 1980s. For the younger viewers, we have the modern day Daisy in the outstandingly curvy form of Jessica Simpson.
